Inside-Out Forehand Drill

The inside-out forehand is the number 1 shot in the game.

It defines the modern game!

Born from the thought process - if your most potent shot is your forehand, why not play it as often as you can?

And better still use it to hit to what is normally your opponents weaker side (the backhand).

Look below to find out how todevelop this shot into a weapon.

PURPOSE This drill encourages you to use your forehand as a strength to create an attacking position.

DESCRIPTION The coach or your partner feeds a wide ball to the forehand corner which you must play down the line with heavy topspin to the target area.

The next feed is to the backhand side, slightly away from the centre of the court.

You must run around the ball with quick footwork and use an inside out forehand to hit the shot towards the target area.

VARIATIONS You run around the ball and play the forehand into the opposite corner of the court to create an alternative pattern of play.
